Insurance and cover
Every car has basic cover, but you may still pay an excess if something happens. An add-on can bring that down. Please check before you leave.
Included with every car
Injury cover
Cover for injury to the other party. Limits are listed on the contract we give you at booking.
Property cover
Cover for the other party's car or property, including repairs that can run high.
Vehicle cover
Cover for damage to the car you rented. Excess amounts are below.
What you may pay after an incident
Vehicle cover has an excess. Around ¥50,000 for an accident and ¥100,000 for theft is the usual cap. Cover for the other party while driving usually has no excess.
A collision damage waiver (CDW) can bring the excess to ¥0 in most cases. From about ¥1,100 per day. We quote it when you book.
When cover does not apply
Tire or wheel-only damage from a curb hit is often outside vehicle cover. We explain this on the contract.
Interior cleaning and lost items are outside insurance. Please check the cabin before you return the car.
Drink-driving, driving without a valid licence, or use outside the contract is not covered.
Unsure about cover? Ask before you book.
We can sketch what you need from the destination and who will drive.
